Blessed

Thanks be to "him who does immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine"

Today we "officially" became the parents of our son, Macieo James Pritchard.

Welcome to the family!
Aunt Abigail was on hand for some entertainment as we prepared for our big trip to the courthouse!
We got all dressed up and snapped a family photo before we headed downtown to meet "the judge."

We not only got to meet him, but had our picture taken with him, as well!

The Grandma's and Grandpa's were excited to be there for their new grandson!
Macieo had a blast, and couldn't figure out why his mom couldn't stop crying. For a split second, I thought I might make it through the day without crying. Boy, was I wrong!
Thanks to all of our wonderful friends and family who came to help us celebrate!
Today was a great day! We are so blessed to know that long before today, God knew that Macieo would someday be our son. We're so excited that the child we had hoped and prayed for is finally ours.
After a busy day, we're headed to be early, ready to wake up tomorrow for another big day...first grade starts bright and early.
Good night, Macieo James. We love you!

It's Almost Official

We just got word that our adoption hearing is next Tuesday! Only one more week, and M officially becomes a Pritchard. While he's been calling us mom and dad for awhile now, and we've been planning for this day, I'm excited for it to become "legal." While I feel like we're already a family, it will be nice to have the same last name!

If you would have told me a year ago that I'd be adopting a six-year-old little boy, I would have laughed out loud! But, as with most things in my life, the plans God has for me are different (and far better) than those I make for myself. They say parenthood is a wild ride...here's to jumping in with both feet!

Check back next week, because once the adoption is final, I can finally start posting pictures! And I'm sure I'll have lots to say :)

Thanks to all of you for your prayer and encouragement!
